This is a series of FREE community groups that can be booked into on a casual basis.
Erin is a certified Himalayan Breathwork and Kriya facilitator, having trained under the guidance of Master Teachers from The Sattva Life, which is affiliated with Sattva Yoga Academy, Rishikesh, India.
This event is suitable for individuals of all experience levels.

Arriving
Doors will open 15 minutes prior to the session commencing, so you can set up your mat and get ready for the Journey. Please note that doors will be locked at the commencement of the Journey to ensure there is no disruption for other participants. Thankyou.

Please enter the Edithvale Life Saving Club from the main entrance on The Esplanade.
There is some street parking available on The Esplanade and surrounding streets. The venue is just a short walk from Edithvale train station.

This group session will be targeted to individuals 13 years and older.
Individuals who are under 18 years will require their parent/guardian to complete and sign their registration forms, and to accompany them to be dropped off and picked up from the event.

More about Himalayan Breathwork and Kriya
Himalayan Breathwork and Kriya is a part of Sattva Yoga, derived from ancient kundalini and tantric traditions of the Himalayas.
‘Sattva’ is a Sanskrit word that denotes the quality of inner balance, harmony, clarity, creativity and lightness of being.
‘Kriya’ is a Sanskrit word meaning ‘action that leads us to evolution, expansion, and liberation’ and is referred to as the ‘yoga of energy’.
This embodied practice combines a diverse range of breathing techniques, specific visualisation, focused awareness, body movements, mantras and mudras that can support in:
Calming the mind and body
Awakening/enlivening vital energy
Releasing stress and emotion from the body and nervous system
Expanding consciousness and tapping into our creative potential
Experiencing states of unity and deep connection with Self
Building self-awareness of thinking, feeling, somatic and relational experiences, as they arise
Enhancing states of clarity and self-compassion
Optimising respiratory efficiency

Participants will need to bring:
Yoga Mat
Cushion or bolster to sit on (a cushion with additional height can support hips and knees whilst practicing in a seated position)
Optional additional cushion(s) to use as supportive props for knees, ankles when practicing in seated position (as required).
Blanket (to cover body when lying or to use as a supportive prop under feet when seated)
Drink bottle for hydration
Wear loose, comfortable clothes

In this session, you will receive information and instruction about Breathwork, Mudras, Mantras, Free Movement, Meditation, Kriyas & Asana (Himalayan Breathwork and Kriya).
Himalayan Breathwork involves deep breathwork and may at times involve breath holds.
Possible contra-indications for Himalayan Breathwork & Kriya requiring an adjusted practice:
Anxiety, recent history of panic attacks, pregnancy, hernia, glaucoma, high blood pressure, recent trauma, epilepsy/seizures.
Mental health conditions
Individuals experiencing active psychotic symptoms or suicidal thoughts may find some aspects of Himalayan Breathwork and Kriya challenging. In these cases, a discussion with Erin may clarify whether an individually tailored session would be appropriate and supportiveIf any of these contra-indications/pre-existing conditions apply to you, it is important that you notify Erin prior to a session so your participation in the event can be adjusted accordingly.
It is important to listen to your own limitations. If at any time you are feeling unsafe, it is important that you stop participating and seek support as needed.
