Clinical Psychology

Erin Cummings - Clinical Psychology, Clinical Emotional Freedom Techniques ( Clinical EFT ), Sound Therapy, Sound Healing, Breathwork and Meditation

Treatment

Erin provides clinical psychological treatment to children, young people and adults who present with a broad range of presenting issues. Treatment aims to promote self-awareness and the development of relational, emotional, behavioural and reflective thinking skills.

One of Erin’s main interest areas is incorporating Clinical EFT within her clinical psychology treatment plans with clients. Erin has found Clinical EFT to be a great bridge between talking-based therapies and somatic-based techniques that support the movement of trauma and emotion through the body. To find out more about EFT, please click here.

Sessions are currently offered in-person and via telehealth (using video calling as her primary platform) and are typically 60 to 90 minutes in duration.

Service Fees & Rebates

To learn more about appointments and fees please contact Erin for more information.

  • Medicare rebates are available for a range of specified psychological services, as listed below. To be eligible for a Medicare rebate, an individual must be referred by their GP, psychiatrist or paediatrician.

    • The Better Access to Mental Health Care initiative provides up to 10 individual sessions and 10 group sessions per calendar year for people with an assessed mental health issue. Individuals need to book an appointment and discuss their presenting issues with either their GP, psychiatrist or paediatrician, who will make an assessment of eligibility and then make a referral to a clinical psychologist with a GP Mental Health Care Plan or a letter.

    • Please note that Medicare rebates are available for two carer/parent sessions (where client is not present) per calendar year under the Better Access to Mental Health Care initiative.  These two sessions come out of the total ten rebates available each year (i.e. they are not in addition to the ten). Beyond this, the identified client on the Medicare referral must be present for Medicare rebates to be claimed. Carer/parent sessions can be claimable for clients registered under the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).

    • The Chronic Disease Management (CDM) initiative provides up to 5 individual sessions per calendar year, for people with a chronic medical condition and complex care needs.  Referral requires a GP Management Plan and Team Care Arrangements (TCA).

It is advised that you call Medicare on 132 150 to confirm your eligibility prior to your first appointment. Sessions are paid in full and then clients can submit their receipt to Medicare online to claim their session rebate.

  • You may be eligible to receive rebates for clinical psychology sessions from your private health insurer. As a registered Medicare clinical psychology provider, Erin is registered with most of the major private health insurers. Please speak to your insurer to check your level of extras cover and session rebate details. Sessions are paid in full and then clients can submit their receipt to their insurer to claim their session rebate.

  • Erin can provide clinical psychology services to clients under the NDIS if they are self-managed or plan-managed. This means that full fees are paid by the client (for self-managed) or plan manager (for plan managed) and then receipts submitted by the client or plan manager themselves to NDIS for reimbursement.

Unfortunately, Erin is not able to see clients under the NDIS who are NDIA-managed.

  • A minimum of one business day notice is required for cancellations, otherwise 50% of the fee will apply. Please note that weekends and public holidays are not business days. Failure to attend an appointment will attract the full fee and cannot be claimed via Medicare.
