Erin is trained and accredited in Evidence-Based Emotional Freedom Techniques (EB-EFT), also known as Clinical EFT.

One of her main interest areas is incorporating clinical EFT within her clinical psychology treatment plans with clients.  Erin has found clinical EFT to be a great bridge between talking-based therapies and somatic-based techniques that support the movement of trauma and emotion through the body.

Clinical EFT (often referred to as ‘tapping’) is a brief self-applied stress reduction technique using elements of exposure and cognitive therapy, with physical stimulation of acupuncture points. When an individual’s physiological stress response reduces and they feel safer within themselves and in their surrounds, it is often possible to think more clearly and make steady progress on a range of presenting issues.

Erin acknowledges the effectiveness of therapeutic approaches that incorporate breathwork, meditation, mindfulness and somatic-based techniques. These somatic-based components are often effective in calming conditioned nervous system responses that can have origins in past trauma and challenging life experiences.

Erin practices as a certified Himalayan Breathwork and Kriya facilitator.

Erin has trained under Master Teachers from The Sattva Life, which is affiliated with Sattva Yoga Academy, Rishikesh, India.

Derived from ancient kundalini and tantric traditions of the Himalayas, this practice combines a diverse range of breathing techniques, visualisation, focused awareness, body movements, mantras and mudras that aim to activate vital energy, release stress and emotion from the body and nervous system – supporting personal healing and growth.
